LBI Classic has its first weigh-in… Matteo Delmonico with an 8.36lb striper caught in Barnegat Light on a plug! Today for the heaviest striper there is a special prize of a 10 pocket Sportfish Lure Bag filled with 8 jigs and a striper rig. So just because there is one fish in doesn’t mean there isn’t a bigger one to be caught today!
There are also still a bunch of cocktail blues out there going after the fresh mullet – there have to be some bigger fish out there too. There are still some kingfish out off the surf as well. On the bay, sea bass opened again yesterday – 10 fish at 12.5″.
Its a beautiful morning that is going to lead into a great day. Its about 71 degrees now and not too much wind. Will be sunny and into the mid/high 70’s today.
