We’ve been fishing the reef today and yesterday. Caught over 100 black sea bass yesterday and about 50 today. Keepers ratio is almost 10 to 1. We had dozens of double hook ups.
We used strips of squid and peanut bunker (frozen). Both worked fine. They had no interest in artificial or Gulp. Bunker seemed to draw larger fish. Dropper rigs were the key.
We anchored with a Minn Kota trolling motor… It appeared that the boats that drifted did OK but not in these numbers. The boats that had short drifts did much better. When the wind picked up most everybody left.
Will probably try stripers in the bay on Saturday…
