DAILY REPORT

Happy Memorial Day. Today we remember and honor all those brave people who gave their lives for our liberties!

Well, we have reached the end of the holiday weekend and what a weekend it was! To end the weekend, today we have some rain and passing storms. Winds are currently coming from the SSE at about 8mph. This morning, the surf is calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 4-5oz to hold. The LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 62°. The air temp is currently 66° and heading to 68°.

The bay is calm and 66°.

Low tide is at 5:29AM and 5:21PM. High tide is at 11:26AM and 11:38PM.

So the weekend brought us striped bass, bluefish, black drum, fluke, seabass, kingfish and dogfish! Couldn’t ask for a better MDW with weather and fishing. I received reports all weekend, with little time to post so here I go…. Friday – Aiden had a bunch of fun at night and got this doggie, and David and Evan hooked up with the beautiful striper within 15 minutes of coming here and getting bunker! Randy bought bunker and was back within a 45 minutes with this 11.58# bluefish weigh-in which puts him in first place for the Jingles In-store tournament. Saturday – DJ reeled in this 44″ striped bass using clams and Andrew also has a 44″ using bunker (not pic). And then there is River – River came in the store two weeks ago and we went over a bunch of information to get him started. His mom sent me a picture of his monster striped bass catch on Saturday – and what a smile!! Lastly on the surf, there were many fluke caught – the most impressive was this 6.08 doormat caught by Jeff Wanamaker on a bucktail and fluke bellies.

Out in the bay, I saw lots of posted pictures of fluke! Junior anglers, Luke and James caught this nice 2.22#, 18″ fluke and they were very excited! Gary Rowles caught his limit with a 3.36#, 2.84# and 2.24# (for the In-store tournament). Jeff was also went out back with Michael and had more success: Jeff with 2.3#, 19.25″ and Michael with 3.22# and 21″. And then there was Tanner Johnson with a giant fluke – 6.42# and 25.5″😯!! (That was for the In-store tournament). And lastly for the bay I received a message that said “great catch to the start the summer” and I think many people felt that way this weekend!!

Today we have MINNOWS and BLOODWORMS! Don’t forget your bait bucket. If you do not have one, we have Jingles Bait Buckets for just $3! Catching fish?? Send us your reports to jinglesbait@comcast.net!
