Today started out a hazy morning here in Beach Haven but since then the fog has rolled in! It should burn off where we will see some sun today. This morning the wind is very mild coming from the SW at about 4mph. Currently the surf is calm with 2-3 foot waves. You will need about 4-5oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 61.5°. The air temp is currently 68° and heading to 73°.
The bay is flat calm and 63.3°.
Low tide is at 11:10AM and 11:51PM. High tide is at 4:50AM and 5:26PM.
The first week of June is almost past us and we are still seeing some nice striped bass from the surf. Bluefish and black drum are also still being caught. Fluke fishing in the surf has been picking up with some nice sized keepers hitting the scales. In the bay and inlet, we are also seeing some fluke. Brendan Osler weighed in this this one for the store tournament – 3.16# and 20.25″ caught using gulp.
Two more weeks for the Spring Derby and the Jingles In-Store Bass/Blue tournaments! Both go on through June 22nd. Register up to the last day – lots of fish out there that can put you in first place! And the Jingles In-Store Fluke tournament runs the entire season with prizes to fifth place! Only $10 to enter.
