It’s an overcast cooler morning here in Beach Haven today and looks like it will be this way most of the day. Winds this morning are coming from the N at about 11mph. The surf is a little rougher with 2-3 foot waves . You will need 5-6 oz to hold. The LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 53°. The air temp is currently 52° and heading to 54°.
The bay is a little choppy and 52°.
Low tide is at 11:17AM and 11:27PM. High tide is at 4:34AM and 5:16PM.
We had a striped bass weigh-in yesterday! Pat Gallen caught this 29″ and 8.18# striper in Surf City off the beach using salted clam. The bass are just about here so get your gear together and get fishing! There have also been striper reports on artificial shad as well as drum and kingfish reports. Pat wins the $25 gift card for the first striper weigh-in for the store tournament. $25 gift card still up for grabs for the first IN-store tournament bluefish weigh-in. Striped bass are still in the bay as well – a good place is around the sod banks. Use bloodworms or artificials.
