It’s a sunny but cool day today but should warm up a bit. Right now winds are coming from the NW at about 19mph. Currently, the surf is relatively calm with 2-3 foot waves . You will need 3-4oz to hold. The LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 45°. The air temp is currently 45° and heading to 52°.
The bay is a little choppy and 43°.
Low tide is at 5:13AM and 5:01PM. High tide is at 11:00AM and 11:15PM.
Stripers are in the back bays! Bait of choice is bloodworms. Slot this year is still 28″ – 31″ but I have seen quite a few reports of keeper striper already. **Please remember the Dos & Don’ts for how to handle a striped bass for catch and release. There is a great article you can read on our home page as well as a laminated card here at the shop. And tog opens on April 1st – 4 fish at 15″.
