It’s a beautiful Saturday here in Beach Haven! Currently winds are mild coming from the W at about 7mph. Currently, the surf is moderate with 2-4 foot waves. You will need 3-4oz to hold. The LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 62°. The air temp is currently 63° and heading to 76°.

The bay is calm and 61°.

Low tide is at 1:41AM and 2:21PM. High tide is at 7:52AM and 8:13PM.

We had a kingfish weigh-in here in Beach Haven yesterday for the LBI Classic – Ed McGlynn brought in a .86#, 13″ kingfish caught in Beach Haven on bloodworms! Up in BL, there continues to be a bunch of Tog. On the south end of the island we have seen a few small striped bass and in the bay there are quite a few reports of striped bass being caught by the sod banks. Out at the the reefs, I had a report good report for Sea Bass. Sea Bass is 10 fish per person – go hit ’em up!

The 26th Annual Striped Bass Derby kicked off at the Sea Shell Resort in Beach Haven last night. This years Derby will benefit the Beach Haven First Aid Squad and the Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Company! Fishing is Saturday and Sunday, but if you are not fishing – food, music and fun are all weekend! Come and join the festivities – it’s always a great time!
