It’s another beautiful, sunny day here in Beach Haven today! Currently winds are mild coming from the WSW at about 7mph. Currently, the surf is moderate with 2-3 foot waves. You will need 3-4oz to hold. The LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 62°. The air temp is currently 61° and heading to 73°.
The bay is moderate and 58°.
Low tide is at 12:08AM and 12:37PM. High tide is at 6:15AM and 6:35PM.
Tog and bluefish are still being weighed-in up on the north end of the island for the 69th Annual Surf Fishing Classic! Another bluefish caught in Barnegat Light – this one on a plug. All bluefish weigh-ins have been on plug/lure or mullet. Tog weigh-ins have been on some sort of crab/sand flea and the striped bass so far have been caught using a multitude of bait/lures (plastics, bucktails, lure, eel). On the south end of the island we have seen a few small striped bass. In the bay there are quite a few reports of striped bass being caught by the sod banks. And out on the troll I am seeing some big bass but they are still on the north end of the island.
