It’s a beautiful sunny morning here in Beach Haven today with a little bit of a smoky smell….. Currently, winds are mild coming from the WNW at about 11mph. Currently, the surf is flat calm with 0-1 foot waves. You will need 3-4oz to hold. LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 64°. The air temp is currently 57° and heading to 73°.

The bay is a little choppy and 65°.

Low tide is at 8:04AM and 8:32PM. High tide is at 1:33AM and 2:14PM.

No Spring Derby weigh-ins since the big bluefish earlier in the week. But reports of stripers and blues still. There are also fluke in the surf that anglers are reeling in while fishing for stripers. Here Walter Plewa brought in this 20″ fluke yesterday with clams. In the bay there are fluke, weakfish and some small blues. Out at Little Egg Reef you can get some black sea bass.

Today is the last day for the BHMTC Tuna Open! On the scale yesterday, A Salt Weapon brought in a 50.4lb yellowfin tuna!! The list of tuna weighed-in for the tournament so far is quite extensive – You can follow the progress of the tournament and all the weigh-ins at https://www.tunaopen.com/on-the-scale. Awards night is tonight – come on over to the Tuna and Marlin club and watch the final weigh-ins and the awards – There is over $200,000 in prizes! Good luck to all the anglers!
