It’s a mild, partly sunny morning here in Beach Haven today. And it is the calm before the storm….. and I don’t mean weather… Haha. Winds are coming from the NE at about 11mph. Currently, the surf is a moderate with 3-4 foot waves. You will need 4-5 oz to hold. LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 61°. The air temp is currently 56° and heading to 66°.
The bay is calm and 58°.
Low tide is at 6:02AM and 5:49PM. High tide is at 12:19PM.
We had a Spring Derby weigh-in yesterday – Danny Federico brought in a 18.34# and 37 7/8″ striper that he caught on surf clam in Holgate. Meanwhile, his brother Andrew brought in a 23# and 34″ Black Drum also caught on clams in Holgate! So the stripers, bluefish and black drum continue to produce in the surf. There are a couple fluke here and there on the surf as well. In the bay there are fluke, weakfish and bluefish. Black Sea Bass is open until June 19th too – 10 fish per person at 12.5″.
