It’s a beautiful, mild May morning here in Beach Haven! There is almost no wind, blowing from the ESE at about 2mph. Currently, the surf is calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need 3-4oz to hold. LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 58°. The air temp is currently 52° and heading to 65°.
The bay is flat calm and 55°.
Low tide is at 6:20AM and 6:19PM. High tide is at 12:26PM.
No Spring Derby weigh-ins yesterday but many reports of BIG striped bass being caught up and down the island! Matt Shapiro, Danyaal T, Jude all reporting and taking pictures of over-sized striped bass yesterday all on clams (fresh and salted) and Russ Andrews and Bob Sullivan and Mugs all reporting keeper size. There are bluefish out there as well and an occasional fluke off the surf too. In the bay there are fluke and weakfish. It’s a great time to get out there!
