Well, we are back to a cloudy and a little wet morning in Beach Haven. Winds are strong coming from the W at about 19mph (with gusts up to 25mph). Currently, the surf is a little rough with 3-4 foot, waves. You will need 5-7oz to hold. LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 56°. The air temp is currently 50° and heading to 54°.
The bay is choppy and 55°.
Low tide is at 12:10AM ans 12:28PM. High tide is at 6:07AM and 6:40PM.
Had a current first place weigh-in yesterday! Jonathan Kelly brought in this monster – 21.80lbs and 37 7/8″! He said he kept looking at the measurement to make sure it wasn’t over and then brought it and he was right – Just under 38″. He was in Holgate using surf clams. This striper also puts Jonathan in first place in the Jingles In-store tournament. Saw more reports of bluefish so hoping we see a blitz and have a bluefish weigh-in. Haven’t had one at our store yet so the first to weigh-in a bluefish will get a $25 Jingles gift card!
Also in fishing news….. fluke season starts today! Which means, the Jingles In-Store fluke tournament also starts! $10 to enter and 100% payout for prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and a $25 Jingles gift card for 4th place! Tournament runs from May 2nd through Sept. 27nd.
