It’s a beautiful mild, slightly hazy morning here in Beach Haven today, with storms coming in this afternoon. Winds are from the SW at about 14mph. Currently, the surf is a bit rougher with with 3-4 foot wave. You will need 3-4 oz to hold. LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 49°. The air temp is currently 59° and heading to 64°.

The bay is calm and 53°.

Low tide is at 2:51AM and 3:02PM. High tide is at 8:41AM and 9:03PM.

No derby weigh-ins yesterday, but Jimmy Betz caught a striper off the surf in Spray Beach on salted clams. Bass are being caught in the bay – under the bridge and by the sod banks. Bloodworms are the bait of choice, along with soft plastics or small plugs.

Don’t forget to sign up for the 21st Annual Spring Derby! It’s $20 to enter and goes through June 25, 2023. All money collected in registrations is paid out to to first, second and third place prizes for striped bass and first place prize for bluefish. And don’t forget to also sign up for our Jingles In-Store tournament for $10.
