It’s another gorgeous morning here in Beach Haven!! Winds are mild coming from the W at about 8mph. Currently, the surf is flat calm like a lake for the fourth day in a row! You will need 2-3 oz to hold. LBI 5th Street Beach Haven sea temperature is 64°. The air temp is currently 53° and heading to 67°.

The bay is relatively calm and 58°.

Low tide is at 3:16AM and 3:53M. High tide is at 9:24AM and 9:45PM.

Action continues out in those calm waters… bunker pods, whales, dolphins… On Saturday and Sunday a bunch of reports of large striped bass caught up by Barnegat Inlet by boat by live lining bunker. Connor, of FishHawk Charters, has three in the morning and three more in the afternoon.

For the 68th Annual LBI Surf Fishing Classic (the Derby) we have had our first striped bass weigh-in and our first bluefish weigh-in! Matt Shapiro had the first striped bass – 29 1/4″ and 7.98lbs caught in Holgate on a lure. And for Bluefish, Chris Masino caught a 16 1/8″ and 1.42lb bluefish in Beach Haven also using a lure. Other reports off the beach are the continuation of cocktail blues and kingfish. Remember, kingfish is part of the tournament too – mush be bigger than 12″.
