It’s another gray overcast morning here in Beach Haven, but I don’t think the sun with pop out today. Currently, the wind is from the SSW at about 9mph. The surf is moderate with 2-3 foot waves. You will need 3-4 oz to hold. The ocean temp is 52°. The temp is currently 53° and heading to 62°.
The bay is calm and 53°.
Low tide is at 5:05AM and 4:051M. High tide is at 11:09AM and 11:04PM.
We had some derby weigh-ins yesterday – including bluefish!! But first, Matt Shapiro brought his catch here, a 17.02lbs and 35 7/8″ striped bass caught in Holgate using surf clams. Up in Barnegat Light, Vince Orzel caught a 5.52lb, 27.25″ bluefish using a plug. It’s a great time to be down here fishing! Bass, blues, fluke….
Today we have surf clams in the shell, and fresh shucked. We also have live minnows.
