Daily Report

It’s a bright sunny, but still a little cool, morning here in Beach Haven today. Currently, the wind is still strong from the NNW blowing at 17mph. The surf is calm this morning with 2-3 foot waves. You will need 3-4 oz to hold. The ocean temp is 51°. The temp is currently 43° and heading to 60°.

The bay is very choppy and 48°.

Low tide is at 1:40AM and 1:47PM. High tide is at 7:36AM and 7:59PM.

Anglers continue to get striped bass and black drum in the surf using clams. No additional spring derby weigh-ins, but I am seeing keeper size fish being caught up and down the island. In the bay they are still catching stripers using bloodworms and paddle tails. If you haven’t signed up for the spring derby yet, it’s time to get in! Only $20 to join. Also, this Saturday is the Surf Fishing 101 Seminar being held on the beach at the Long Beach Township Building on 68th St. It’s free to attend. Email Ron Stesney at flukepleaser6600@gmail.com to register. And there is still time to get into the American Angler Classic this Sunday, May 1st. Go to www.americananglerus.com for more information. We will be open at 6AM on Sunday morning.

Today we have surf clams, bloodworms and minnows.
