DAILY REPORT

It’s a mild, overcast morning in Beach Haven today and it’s the last day in September! The wind this morning is coming from the NNE at about 9mph. Currently the surf is relatively calm but with 3-4 foot waves. You will need about 4-5oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 72°. The air temp is currently 70° and heading to 72°.

The bay is calm and 70.3°.

Low tide is at 7:59AM and 9:26PM. High tide is at 2:13AM and 2:30PM.

We are in that late September lull where there is not much to fish for, but the surf does still have bluefish and kingfish. We did have a bluefish LBI Surf Classic weigh-in yesterday though with Shawn Gallen bringing in this 3.22# and 22 1/8″ bluefish caught on spot! Other than that, over the weekend, Nathaniel had a nice bluefish while in town for a day and Missy caught this pompano. Not many striped bass yet, you can try up at the lighthouse or out back by the sod banks, however the water is still a little warm. BUT – Sea Bass opens tomorrow so and the reefs should be full of them!

The LBI 71st Annual Surf Fishing Classic is four weeks in and is only $40 to enter for a 13 week tournament ($20 for 17 and under)! You can register at any of the island’s 3 bait shops – here at Jingles Bait & Tackle, Fisherman’s Headquarters or Surf City Bait & Tackle. There is an opportunity for daily, weekly and grand prizes. Today we have FRESH MULLET and BLOODWORMS! Don’t forget your bait bucket – If you do not have one, we have Jingles Bait Buckets for just $3! Send us your fishing reports to Instagram, FaceBook or jinglesbait@comcast.net.
