DAILY REPORT

It’s a warm, humid, damp morning here in Beach Haven today – and sadly its the last day of fluke season. It rained pretty good early this morning but now the rain has stopped but there is a chance of showers all morning. The wind this morning is coming from the S at about 9mph. Currently the surf is relatively calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 4-5oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 71.6°. The air temp is currently 73° and heading to 74°.

The bay is calm and 70.9°.

Low tide is at 4:25AM and 4:57PM. High tide is at 10:36AM and 10:52PM.

We had another handful of LBI Classic weigh-ins this week! On Monday, Emmett Fitzgerald has another striped bass caught up at Barnegat Light on a lure – 10.6# and 29 1/8″. That same afternoon, Johns Sullivan of Brant Beach Rod & Reel brought in another kingfish weighing .78# on bloodworms. Tom Beatty had a two weigh-ins on Tuesday: He started the morning with a fluke 2.76# and 18 3/4″ using mullet, and then later in the day came back with a bluefish at 2.98# and 20.5″ also on mullet! And lastly (but certainly not least) to report weigh-ins here at Jingles was Pat Gallen who had a fluke weigh-in – 2.78# and 19.5″ caught using a jig.

As I said fluke season ends today but you can keep fishing for kingfish and bluefish which are still out there – and the striped bass will be here soon enough! It’s never too late to sign up for the 71st Annual LBI Classic!
