It’s a mostly sunny, warm August morning here in Beach Haven! The wind this morning is mild coming from the E at about 6mph. Currently the surf is calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 78.4°. The air temp is currently 78° and heading to 79°.
The bay is calm and 77.4°.
Low tide is at 7:50AM and 9:04PM. High tide is at 1:45AM and 2:16PM.
Fishing is still good on and around the island! Had a fluke weigh-in yesterday caught in the bay by Mike Arbtell – 4.16# and 23″ – caught using live spot. Fluke are being caught off the surf, as well as a surprise pompano like Kathryn caught this week! Reports of kingfish off the surf have started coming in too. Out at the reefs I am hearing of really good fluke fishing and the Miss Beach Haven continues to bring home keepers on both daily trips – book online at www.missbeachhaven.com! For other fun with the kids, take then to the bulkhead and just drop some squid and bounce off the bottom – there are all sorts of little fish to be caught!
The Beach Haven White Marlin Invitational wrapped up fishing yesterday with some big tuna and a ton of white marlin releases!! All results and prizes can be found on the website at www.whitemarlininvitational.com. Dock Road Marlin Fest (with the Miss Beach Haven as the presenting sponsor) continues today with vendor tents and a Ship Bottom Brewery Beer Garden from 11am – 3pm.
