THE SUN!! It’s been an interesting morning today – we started with fog, then pouring rain, then sun and blue sky and now it’s a little gray again. But I think we will mostly see the sun today with the temperature getting much warmer than it’s been, but also a chance of showers again. This morning the wind is mild coming from the S at about 5mph. Currently the surf is calm with 0-1 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 63.5°. The air temp is currently 67° and heading to 76°.
The bay is calm and 65.3°.
Low tide is at 7:47AM and 8:23PM. High tide is at 1:21AM and 2:04PM.
The Spring Derby is down to its last few days ending this Sunday, June 22. The surf still has some bluefish and an occasional striped bass so maybe there is one more weigh-in to take some winnings! There is also fluke off the surf and off course plenty of dogfish…. In the bay there are fluke – way out back in Great Bay as well as a few right behind Beach Haven – squid, minnows and gulp – they are all working.
Today is Day 3 of fishing for the Beach Haven Marlin & Tuna Club’s TUNA OPEN! Yesterday, 34 boats went out and 16 tuna weighed in. The heaviest being a bluefin at 42.6#.
