Once again we have an overcast morning here in Beach Haven and not sure we will see the sun all day. BUT the weekend outlook is good so we have that to look forward to! This morning the wind is coming from the ENE at about 9mph. Currently the surf is moderately calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 4-5oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 66.7°. The air temp is currently 63° and heading to 64°.
The bay is calm and 63.9°.
Low tide is at 6:09AM and 6:09PM. High tide is at 12:20PM.
Again the weather didn’t cooperate this weekend but that didn’t stop anglers for getting out there fishing for Father’s Day weekend. On Saturday Jeff, Charlie and Emma weighed in this nice bluefish caught in the surf using mullet at 8.16# and 30.5″! Jeff W was on the beach Saturday morning and caught 6 fluke – no keepers, but a lot of action, and yesterday Rich came in and purchased a nice lightweight 7″ combo and then came back 2 hours later with Ben and Shawn to weigh in this fluke they caught on the surf – 2.9# and 20″. They were using squid. In the bay there were multiple reports of keeper fluke – way out back in Great Bay as well as a few right behind Beach Haven.
Today is Day 1 of fishing for the Beach Haven Marlin & Tuna Club’s TUNA OPEN. Check the website www.tunaopen.com daily to see which boats went out for the day. Weigh-ins are open to the public from 5-9PM all week! Grab your cooler and hang out along the bay and watch these big tuna come in! For Tuna anglers, we are stocked up with butterfish and sardine flats.
Today we have MINNOWS! Don’t forget your bait bucket – If you do not have one, we have Jingles Bait Buckets for just $3! Send us your fishing reports to Instagram, FaceBook or jinglesbait@comcast.net.
