It’s a mostly cloudy morning here in Beach Haven on this last day of April. Right now the wind is mild coming from the NW at about 7mph. Currently, the surf is relatively calm with with 2-3 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 51.8°. The air temp is currently 68° and heading to 70°.
The bay is calm and 55°.
Low tide is at 4:43AM and 4:42PM. High tide is at 10:40AM and 10:56PM.
Starting to see more and more reports of striped bass in the surf! We also have some black drum and the bluefish should be on their way. Matt C got a nice bass in the AM. Today is the last day for tog. Surf clams will be coming at the end of the week. It’s a going to be a beautiful day to get out there and do some fishing!
The 23rd Annual LBI Spring Derby is underway – running until June 22nd. It is $20 to register and you can register at any of the 3 LBI tackle shops (Jingles, Surf City Bait & Tackle and Fishermans Headquarters). The tournament is for striped bass and bluefish and there is also a Catch & Release prize for striped bass over the slot limit.
