It’s an overcast (sun trying to poke through) type of morning in Beach Haven today. This morning the wind is coming from the NE at about 7mph. Currently the surf is calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 64°. The air temp is currently 70° and heading to 72°.

The bay is calm and 65.8°.

One more week for the LBI Spring Derby and striper fishing has slowed down a bit. No Derby weigh ins in a couple of weeks but that doesn’t mean that that winning striper or bluefish is not swimming out there looking for a bite to eat – You can still register and win some money!

Fluke fishing on the other hand is heating up with fluke in Great Bay to fluke right out back of Beach Haven. The Budman and his grandson Wes caught a couple of 19″ right out back and the Copelands and Taulanes are breaking in their new boat and had keepers two days in a row! These two weighing in at 2.82# (19 3/8″) and 2.10# (18.25″) respectively. All anglers were fishing with minnows.

Beach Haven Marlin & Tuna Club’s TUNA OPEN is next week! Registration is Saturday night from 4-9PM with the Captains Meeting at 8PM. Fishing begins on Monday but don’t fret if you are not a member….. Weigh-ins are open to the public all week! Weigh-ins are from 5-9PM. Grab you cooler and hand out along the bay and watch these big tuna come in! For Tuna anglers, we are stocked up with Butterfish and Sardine flats.

Today we have MINNOWS! Don’t forget your bait bucket – If you do not have one, we have Jingles Bait Buckets for just $3! Send us your fishing reports to Instagram, FaceBook or jinglesbait@comcast.net.
