It’s another bright sunny beautiful morning today in Beach Haven! This morning the wind finally laid down and is coming from the NNW at about 6mph. Currently the surf is flat calm again with 0-1 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 58.3°. The air temp is currently 57° and heading to 66°.
The bay is moderate and 59.2°.
Low tide is at 1:50AM and 1:47PM. High tide is at 7:41AM and 8:02PM.
I received many reports yesterday with pictures of big striped bass and bluefish! The dogfish are still a problem but work through them. Most bass were caught on clams. Many reports are coming in of anglers catching keeper fluke from the surf using gulp or squid. Derek Correia landed this 3.44# and 20 7/8″ fluke using nuclear chicken gulp. And up north there was a monster doormat fluke caught – over 8# and 29″ – FROM THE SURF! Fishing is hot so get out there!
