DAILY REPORT

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND! It’s a little overcast this morning in Beach Haven but the sun is trying to peek out already. Right now the wind is mild coming from the WNW at about 6mph. This morning, the surf is moderate with 2-3 foot waves. You will need about 4-5oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 59.5°. The air temp is currently 53° and heading to 64°.

The bay is calm and 56.5°.

Low tide is at 11:11AM and 11:58PM. High tide is at 4:45AM and 5:22PM.

The surf continues to provide striped bass and bluefish! But you have to work through a whole lot of dogfish to get them. Anglers are also catching quite a few keeper fluke from the surf using gulp or squid. The Spring Derby still has another month so its not too late to register and weigh in some bass or blues.

In the bay, Dave Johnson caught this monster fluke this morning weighing in at 5.5# and 23.25″. First weigh-in for the store tournament and quite a fluke to beat! You can also pick out some weakfish in the bay.

The Jingles In-store Spring tournaments are up and running – One for striped bass and bluefish which coincides with the Spring Derby. The second is our season long fluke tournament – prizes to fifth place! Just stop in to shop to register – Both tournaments are $10 to enter!

Today we have MINNOWS, SURF CLAMS & FROZEN SAND FLEAS! Don’t forget your bait bucket – If you do not have one, we have Jingles Bait Buckets for just $3! And don’t forget to send us your fishing reports to jinglesbait@comcast.net.
