It’s a mostly cloudy morning here in Beach Haven and a also a little hazy. Right now the wind is mild coming from the SSW at about 3mph. Currently, the surf is calm with with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 50.4°. The air temp is currently 55° and heading to 65°.

We have had a few more reports of striped bass caught in Holgate using clams. Some too small and some a bit too big like this one caught by Steve Gross yesterday that was just over 31″. So come get some clams and get out there on the beach this weekend! This the last weekend to fish for tog until August so come get some green crabs and get up to the rocks at the lighthouse where they have been catching them up. Tog is open until Apr. 30th, with 4 fish per.
The 23rd Annual LBI Spring Derby is underway – running until June 22nd. It is $20 to register and you can register at any of the 3 LBI tackle shops (Jingles, Surf City Bait & Tackle and Fishermans Headquarters). The tournament is for striped bass and bluefish and there is also a Catch & Release prize for striped bass over the slot limit.
