Well, the sun didn’t last long here in Beach Haven but it warmed up! but only for today… Right now the wind is somewhat MILD coming from the WSW at about 8mph. The surf is calm with with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is 45.9°. The air temp is currently 59° and heading to 62°.
The bay is calm and 47.8°.
Low tide is at 4:11AM and 4:07PM. High tide is at 10:01AM and 10:11PM.
Well, right after I updated the report yesterday I got some nice emails welcoming us back AND a report of a Striped bass caught in Beach Haven!! Mike Von Wahlde caught this little guy on Sunday in Beach Haven using clams. Let’s hope there are more out there – so get on out there! In the bay and by the lighthouse they are catching striped bass and tog. Tog is open, with 4 fish per until April 30th.
The 23rd Annual LBI Spring Derby is underway – running until June 22nd. It is $20 to register and you can register at any of the 3 LBI tackle shops (Jingles, Surf City Bait & Tackle and Fishermans Headquarters). The tournament is for striped bass and bluefish and there is also a Catch & Release prize for striped bass over the slot limit.
